ROCKLAND — The Strand Theatre presents the Strand Summer Bash, a “Roaring 20’s” cocktail party fundraiser, Thursday, June 26, from 5 - 7 p.m., at the theater.

Guests will enjoy cool jazz from the Shane Ellis Trio; cocktails, mocktails and hors d'oeuvres by Ada’s Kitchen; a silent auction full of experiences and Strand experiences and Strand ephemera; and more.

This event supports the year-round operations of the nonprofit theater, including the presentation of classic films, live music, the Metropolitan Opera, and an education program that serves more than 4000 local youth annually.  

1920’s attire is optional. Tickets are $50 per person. 

The Strand Theatre, located in downtown Rockland, has been entertaining audiences since it was built in 1923. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the theater underwent an extensive renovation in 2005, which included new sound and projection equipment, a fully restored interior and exterior, and a bright new marquee. In 2014, the theater became a nonprofit organization.
