ROCKPORT - The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce held its annual Business Expo at the Samoset Resort on Wednesday, April 14. One hundred thirty exhibitors, who included businesses and nonprofits, displayed their services.
The PBRCC is the third largest chamber in the state of Maine. Its vision is to promote, and serve the interests of local businesses, non profits and community groups with support, services and information that will allow them to prosper.
Alica Bagnall, director of events for the chamber, said the Expo generated a lot of excitement on the floor.
“We sold out quicker this year then we have in the past,” she said. “And there was great activity in nonprofit area this year. All in all it was a good event. We estimate that more than 1,000 people visited the Expo this year.”
The Expo, like the chamber itself, ia about sharing ideas through local networking, learning about local businesses and coming together as a community to celebrate the the local resources to share.
The chambers opening statement was simple, “The Midcoast is open for business.”
