No injuries but cars are heavily damaged in Rockport crash
ROCKPORT — A Mercedes and Camaro sustained significant damage Monday afternoon, Aug. 10, when the two collided at the busy intersection of routes 90 and 17 at approximately 5 p.m.
The 2014 Mercedes sedan and the 2011 Camaro are considered to be total losses, according to Rockport Police Officer Dana Smith, who investigated the crash.
Smith said that Sarah Harvey, 42, of Rockport, was eastbound on Route 90, with a green light ahead. A box truck had stopped to turn left onto Route 17, and as she went around it to continue east on 90, the Camaro, operated by Glenn Griffin, 40, of Owls Head, turned left onto 17, into her path.
Griffin had been traveling west on Route 90.
No one was injured, and there are no charges.
Smith has attributed the crash to driver inattention.
Rockport Fire Department responded to the crash, as well as Rockport police.
