Margaret Coyne, obituary
ROCKLAND — Margaret “Peggy” Coyne, nee Crane, journeyed from us on Feb. 10, 2016, after a brief illness.
Born in Skowhegan on Aug. 30, 1943, she lived briefly in Caribou and then Norway, Maine.
She attended Northfield Academy in Gill, Mass., and the New England Conservatory of Music in Cambridge, Mass.
She moved to Swanton, Vt., where she raised two boys before receiving the call to enter the Episcopal priesthood. She attended Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge. Upon ordination, she then served for 12 years as rector of Immanuel Episcopal Church in Bellows Falls, Vt. She married Tony Coyne of Bellows Falls.
In 2009, after retirement, the couple moved to Peggy's beloved home state of Maine. They settled in Rockland.
Peggy became active in the local acapella group VoXX, as well as the hospice singing group Solace, where her voice and musical talent were much appreciated.
She is survived by her spouse, Tony; her sons, Robert and Sean Guerrina and their families, Rebecca and John Rafferty, Robert and Kathy Crane, Dunton Crane and Julie Hermans; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Rockland Congregational Church, Kimball Hall, 180 Limerock St. in Rockland.
