Maine trooper collides with car in Appleton en route to Searsmont crash
APPLETON — A Maine state trooper on his way to a crash in Searsmont collided with a car on the Sennebec Road, with both drivers being transported to Pen Bay Medical Center with minor injuries.
According to a news release from the Maine Office of Public Safety, the crash took place at approximately 3:30 p.m., May 10, on the Sennebec Road.
Corporal Jeremy Wesbrock was driving his cruiser with emergency lights and siren sounding. He was attempting to pass a car operated by Lisa Ford, 52, of Appleton, just as Ford was making a left turn into her driveway . The cruiser sideswiped Ford's car and both vehicles ended up off the road.
Wesbrock and Ford were transported to Pen Bay Medical Center with minor injuries. Appleton Fire Department personnel and Union EMS assisted at the scene. The original crash in Searsmont, that Wesbrock was responding to, was covered by other troopers.
