Lincolnville Selectmen to consider harbor float, snow removal bids; budget review continues
LINCOLNVILLE — Selectmen in Lincolnville will, when they meeting Monday evening, Feb. 26, consider a request from Lincolnville Center General Store to hold a street party, Sept. 14, and close off a portion of Route while the festivities are underway. They will also consider an updated five-year snow removal contract, and decide to whom they will award a new harbor float construction job.
The regularly scheduled meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Lincolnville Town Office.
The proposed snow removal contract is from the Rockport-based Farley, Inc., the company that currently plows Lincolnville roads. The town has received no other proposals.
The Farley contract is for five years, and includes an annual increase of 4 percent price increase.
The town’s request for proposals invited three-year contract proposals with price escalations tied to the Social Security rate increases.
Selectmen in Lincolnville will decide whether to table the matter and request to meet with a Farley representative to negotiate the terms.
The town’s current budget proposal includes a snow removal line item of $274,000 and the Year-One of the Farley proposal totals $256,904.
Lincolnville received three quotes for the construction and installation of a 14-foot by 30-foot heavy duty float in Lincolnville Harbor:
Dark Harbor Boat Yard Corporation, $15,750
Islesboro Marine Enterprises, Inc., $16,000
Prock Marine Company, $23,380
Dark Harbor Boat Yard Corporation successfully constructed and installed the town’s most recent float.
