Knox County Grand Jury Indictments: Threatening an assistant district attorney, welfare fraud, tax evasion
ROCKLAND — The Knox County grand jury handed down their indictments April 6 which represented 12 defendants, all from Maine, and 35 counts. An indictment does not imply guilt.
Anthony J. Boudreau, 20, of Warren, burglary; stealing drugs; criminal mischief.
Traci L. Cultera, 55, of Hope, theft by deception; violation of conditions of release. According to the police report filed by Rockland Police, Cultrera was arrested after an employee at Sweet Peas Family Consignment Boutique on Park Street in Rockland contacted police about a woman, later identified as Cultrera, who was seen on the store’s security video footage allegedly removing an original price tag from a purse and switching it with another price tag removed from a much lower priced item. She then purchased the purse with the substituted price tag. Police identified Cultrera by posting the video on the department’s facebook page.
Brandon Demmons, 21, of Rockland, eluding an officer; criminal mischief; driving to endanger; failure to stop for an officer.
Charles H. Dodge, 33 of Rockland, aggravated forgery for creating $50 bills.
Charlotte E. Shellman, 41, of Searsport, aggravated forgery for creating $50 bills; unlawful possession of suboxone. Rockland Police searched the Thomaston Street residence where Dodge and Shellman had been staying after receiving information from the MDEA that they had been producing counterfeit money and passing it off as real during drug deals. The evidence seized during the search included a printer/scanner and counterfeit $50 bills, which were shrewn around the bedroom. The search also revealed packaging for suboxone that was in Shellman’s purse and coat pocket along with a spoon with residue and a syringe in a nightstand, according to the court documents. Shellman admitted to police that she was using the suboxone and did not have a prescription for it.
Jessie J. Gehrmann, 29, of Waldoboro, gross sexual assault, three counts; unlawful sexual touching, three counts.
Jessica L.M. Hooper, 29, of Camden, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.
Kelly Mann, 42, of Jefferson, theft by deception; two counts of unsworn falsification. According to the state, Mann is accused of stealing more than $10,000 of monetary benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance and the MaineCare programs from August 2007 to July 2015. Mann also failed to disclose that her husband was living in her household and contributing income to the household.
Duane Natale, 37, of South Thomaston, unlawful trafficking in oxycodone; conspiracy to commit unlawful trafficking of drugs; criminal forfeiture of $4,610 for furnishing or intending to furnish money for scheduled drugs.
Brandon Robert Simmons, 28, of Camden, aggravated assault; domestic violence criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon; domestic violence reckless conduct; obstructing report of a crime or injury. According to the police report, the victim came to the Camden Police station on March 3 to report that her boyfriend an allegedly assaulted her the previous night. She told police that during an argument Simmons grabbed her by the throat in the bedroom and choked her along with grabbing, pushing and threatening her. The victim said that Simmons took her cell phone during the fight so she was not able to call police and followed her into the kitchen, grabbed a knife from the counter and used his forearm to hold her against the wall while he held the knife in the other hand. Simmons told the victim he was going to kill her, stab and slice her with the knife, according to the police report.
Tyrone Trask, 55, of Rockport, terrorizing with priors. Trask threatened Assistant District Attorney Christopher Fernald in October 2015 during a court hearing. Trask was also convicted of terrorizing in May 2011 in Rockland Superior Court.
Christopher Widdecombe, 42, of Thomaston, failure to pay Maine state income tax, seven counts, from 2011-2014.
