BELFAST — Harlan E. Pendleton, 78, of Belfast, passed away March 13, 2016, at Waldo County General Hospital. He was born Oct. 13, 1937, in Islesboro, the son of Clarence and Goldie Pendleton.

Harlan was a member of the United States Air Force and the American Legion. He lived in Islesboro, working for the town for many years and also enjoyed karaoke.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rebecca; his brothers, Courtney, George, Larry and Earle; and his sister, Velma.

Harlan is survived by his five children, including his sons, Samuel Pendleton of Belmont, Edmund Pendleton of Belfast and Roger Pendleton of Oregon, and his daughters Heidi Pendleton of Oregon and Eleanor Stevens of Texas; his companion, Deborah Kenney of Belfast; his brother, Leonard Pendleton of Belfast; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held in the spring at Smart Cemetery.
