BELFAST — The Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors, is pleased to announce the new executive director, Michaelene Achorn. Michaelene has over 20 years' experience developing relationships and strengthening the community with economic success.

"I am really excited to serve as the Executive Director of the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce. said Michaelene Achorn in a news release. "I look forward to meeting with all the existing members and looking for new members to join this great organization. I am excited to share my ideas and would love to hear your ideas on how the Chamber can serve you better."

Michaelene has worked in the banking industry serving the Midcoast area since 1998. She is an avid member of the Midcoast community and serves as president of the Habitat for Humanity of Waldo County, Treasurer for the Belfast Rotary Club, and former board member for the Cinderella Project of Maine. In 2014, Michaelene was named the Midcoast Board of Realtors Affiliate of the Year, and in 2015, she was awarded the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year.

Michaelene grew up in Belfast and currently lives in Northport with her husband, Greg.
