ROCKLAND — Amtrak officials will meet with the Rockland City Council Jan. 24 at 5:30 p.m. to deliver a presentation about Amtrak passenger rail service to Rockland.
Last fall, Amtrak approached Rockland with plans to extend the Downeaster rail service to Rockland, enabling a Boston to Midcoast connection.
Plans proposed a pilot program to begin in May 2018.
The Jan. 24 meeting, which is open to the public, will take place in City Council Chambers at 270 Pleasant Street.
