Albert M. Crockett, obituary
Albert M. Crockett, 77, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2016, at the Sussman House in Rockport, after a period of declining health. Albert was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Thomaston, to parents Maynard Leroy Crockett Sr. and Dorothy Gertrude Spear Crockett.
Albert grew up in Thomaston and graduated with the Class of 1958 at Thomaston High School.
Albert married the love of his life, Betty Jeanne Conway, on Aug. 5, 1961.
Albert worked as a bookkeeper for Superior Oil and he and Betty ran an upholstery shop for many years in their home. One of Albert’s greatest joys in later years was delivering Bangor and Portland newspapers to his many loyal customers who became friends to Albert after he lost his loving wife. Of course, delivering newspapers would not have been complete without his faithful companion dogs, which he so loved, as co-pilots. Albert may have been a little gruff on the outside but his love for animals was very important to him and he would always make sure that his dogs were the center of his life and were well taken care of.
Albert was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Betty in 2014; as well as his daughter, Priscilla in 2004.
Albert is survived by his two sisters, Dinah Hardy of Waldoboro and Lottie Crockett Chase of North Monmouth; and a nephew, Dean Camber of Union.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring of 2016, when Albert will join his loving wife and daughter at the Village Cemetery Thomaston.
Hall's of Thomaston has care of the arrangements.
