These students are students who are known to persevere. They face challenges head on and do not back down. No matter the difficulty, they are able to overcome it. They continue to try even when things get hard or get messy.
Emcees for the assembly were fifth grade students Jace Sawyer and Pam Smith.
Throughout the month, students were awarded daily tickets for showing perseverance. These tickets were put into a raffle and six lucky winners were drawn at the assembly. Winners received their choice of a prize, including gift cards donated by local businesses or having lunch or playing a game with Principal Riley. This month’s winners were: Adelaide Dorey, Lincoln Moorman, Norah Smith, Evie Guite, Ana Magnoli, Ryleigh Gagnon.
Erik King was presented with the Principal’s Award. Erik is an excellent member of the Thomaston Grammar School community. He stands out in classes as a student who consistently does the right thing. He is honest, trustworthy, respectful, responsible, an excellent team player, and so much more. He is quietly safe and kind, and he always tries his best.
The assembly concluded with a game called Cupid’s Catch! Twenty hearts were spread around the gym while our dear friend Cupid played the Cupid Shuffle. Students danced around the hearts, and when the music stopped, they raced to find one. Each round, two hearts were removed until we were down to the final heart. In the end, Seamus Henry was crowned the winner of Cupid’s Catch! It was a suspenseful and fun event enjoyed by all.
Next month, students at TGS will be focusing on honesty.
Congratulations to all the students and staff who received awards at TGS this month!
