    ROCKLAND — The Strand Theatre will present a screening of Batman (1989) on Thursday, April 25, at 7 p.m., as part of its Jubilee Film Series, which celebrates acclaimed films that have anniversaries in 2024. 

    Having witnessed his parents’ murder as a child, millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton) fights crime in Gotham City disguised as Batman, a costumed hero who strikes fear into the hearts of villains. But when a deformed madman who calls himself “The Joker” (Jack Nicholson) seizes control of Gotham’s criminal underworld, Batman must face his most ruthless nemesis ever while protecting both his identity and his love interest, reporter Vicki Vale (Kim Basinger). 

    Directed by Tim Burton.

    The film is rated PG-13.

    Tickets are $9/General Admission, $8/Senior and Under 12, $7/Strand Members, and will be available at the box office 30 minutes prior to show time. Beer and wine are available at concessions.
