Knox County Sheriff’s beat: Verbal disputes, explosions

    The Knox County Sheriff’s Office received 232 calls for service from Dec. 14-20. Those calls that are not listed below include issues with all terrain vehicles, alarms, 911 hangups, nuisance, erratic vehicles and suspicious complaints. An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty at criminal proceedings.

    Dec. 14

    Deputies Paul Spear and Matt Elwell responded to a report of explosives being shot off in Warren. A group of six individuals were issued warnings on disorderly conduct.

     Deputies Spear and Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

    Pinkham arrested Seth Neal, 34, of Friendship, on two outstanding arrest warrants. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Deputies Arthur Smith and Sgt. Lance Mitchell responded to a report of a domestic dispute in Warren. Tristan Bissett, 18, of Waldoboro, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault. He was transported to the Knox County jail without incident.

    Smith responded to a report of a domestic dispute in Union. Upon arrival, it was found that a verbal argument took place. The subjects were warned on disorderly conduct.


    Dec. 15

    Elwell conducted a radar detail in Washington. No violations were noted.

    Deputy James Moore responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Warren involving two vehicles. Reportable damage sustained.

    Moore began an investigation of burglary in the tow of St. George. There are no suspects or leads at this time.

    Elwell conducted a radar detail in Union. One summons for speed was issued.

    Pinkham responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Hope involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained. 

    Smith began an investigation of trespassing in Hope. The suspect was located and issued a warning for same.


    Dec. 16

    Deputy Robert Potter responded to a report of a boat fire on Vinalhaven. Marine patrol responded and two fishermen were treated at the medical center for hypothermia.

    Deputies Nathaniel Jack and Smith responded to a report of a domestic dispute South Thomaston. Upon arrival it was found that a verbal argument had taken place and the female involved was issued a trespass notice. 


    Dec. 17

    Palmer began an investigation of theft in St. George. This is still an active investigation with one suspect named.

    Moore began an investigation of theft in South Thomaston. This is still an active investigation with one suspect named.

    Jack responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Reportable damage sustained.

    Deputies Jeremy Joslyn and Sgt. Mitchell responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash inWashington involving a single vehicle. Reportable damage sustained.

    Joslyn responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Thomaston involving two vehicles. Non-reportable damage sustained.


    Dec. 18

    Spear arrested Eben Kenney, 28, of Rockland on an outstanding arrest warrant. He was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Elwell conducted a radar detail in Washington. No violations were noted.

    Spear responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Owls Head involving two vehicles. Non-reportable damage sustained.

    Jack began an investigation of threatening in South Thomaston. The male suspect was located by Palmer and issued warnings on phone harassment and trespass.


    Dec. 19

    Spear responded to a report of an adult male who was said to have made a threat to harm himself in Cushing. The male was located and transported to Pen Bay Medical Center for an evaluation.

    Sheriff Donna Dennison arrested Jessica Arsenault, 33, of Ellsworth on an outstanding arrest warrant. She was escorted to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Spear began an investigation of theft in Warren. This is still an active investigation with one suspect named. 


    Dec. 20

    Subsequent to a traffic stop in Warren, Pinkham issued a summons for failure to stop for stop sign.

    Spear arrested Kelly Ann Hall, 30, of Waldoboro on two outstanding arrest warrants. She was transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

    Joslyn responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in Union involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.

    Smith responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in St. George involving a single vehicle striking a deer. Non-reportable damage sustained.
