Jason Hilt promoted to chief financial officer at Maine State Credit Union

Stephen Wallace, president and CEO of Maine State Credit Union, announces the promotion of Jason Hilt to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Hilt will guide the financial strategy for MSCU.

“Jason is a thoughtful and very strategic person, he has nearly 20 years of credit union experience, working in various roles,” said Wallace, in a news release. “This has helped him to approach the role with an understanding of how all the areas of the credit union work together. He is always looking at the big picture and coming up with ways to help the organization remain fiscally strong while being true to the core benefits of the credit union, helping members.”

Hilt, a native of Union and a graduate of Medomak Valley High School, joined Maine State Credit Union in 2022 as Vice President of Finance.

“In this role, he built out a strong team, that streamlined a lot of processes and helped to enhance the overall member experience, by working with other departments to modernize outdated processes,” said the release.  

For the past five months, Hilt has been the interim Chief Financial Officer. 

“I am thrilled to have this opportunity,” said Hilt. “Maine State Credit Union is a remarkable organization and has a strong leadership team in place. I am excited to tackle this challenge and help lead the charge of making Maine State Credit Union the best one in Maine and beyond.”

Before joining Maine State Credit Union, Hilt was at Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union, where he was the Accounting and Information System Manager for eight years.

He has his Certified Credit Union Executive designation from the CUNA School of Management and his Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from the University of Maine in Farmington. He is an active member of the Bowdoin Community Cares Association where he is the treasurer. In his free time, he is raising three shire horses and exploring the coast of Maine with his partner.
