"What's that?" Willow asked about some detritus in the road across the intersection.
It looks like building material," I responded. "I guess we have time to take it to the dump."
But upon closer inspection, the story possibilities got more interesting: Was it tossed? Was it lost? Did it fall off the roof of a car?
Found: Used white wedding dress. Where? Route 90 westbound by the Market Basket. Is it yours? Do you know to whom it might belong?

EDITOR UPDATE: Penobscot Bay Pilot has learned that the dress was reported missing by the owner to the Rockport Police Department, who knew how to reach her. In addition, through an appeal posted on Facebook by a friend of the owner, she is now in the process of being reunited with the dress. Thank you to everyone who responded — we appreciate your help!
