Camden Hills, Belfast qualify for state cross country championship meets

BELFAST — On Saturday, Oct. 25, 16 boys cross country teams and 15 girls cross country teams gathered at Belfast’s Troy Howard Middle School for the Eastern Class B regional championship meet. 

From that group, the top eight schools from each gender division would qualify for the state meet to be hosted on Saturday, Nov. 1. 

And, the Midcoast will be well-represented in the state championship meet as Camden Hills Regional High School and Belfast Area High School will be sending runners to the Nov. 1 meet at Troy Howard Middle School. 

For the Windjammers, the boys team placed third, while the girls team placed fourth. For the Lions, its boys team finished fourth. 

Other local participating teams in the girls division included Belfast (10th), Oceanside (13th) and Medomak Valley (15th).
