Calling artists and crafters for ‘The Lobster Show’ at Arts In The Barn

Arts and crafts show raises funds for Maine Lobstermen's Community Alliance

    CUSHING – Arts In The Barn/ Cushing Historical Society presents a fundraiser for the Maine Lobstermen's Community Alliance July 28 through 30, at 17 Hathorne Point Road in beautiful Cushing.

    The opening reception with refreshments is Friday, July 28, 5 to 7 p.m. Hours Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Saturday will feature a book signing with Kay Stephens, author of the book "The Ghost Trap" and the film of the same name coming out in 2023!
     

    The arts and crafts fund-raising community show depicts anything to do with lobsters: the lifestyle, buoys, boats, lobstermen, anything lobstery!  Jewelry, fine art paintings, crafts of all kinds will be on display and for sale.

    Part of the proceeds will be given to the Maine Lobstermen's Community Alliance, a nonprofit educational, scientific and charitable organization. The Alliance fosters thriving coastal communities, preserves Maine's lobstering heritage and promotes understanding of the sustainability of Maines’ lobster fishery. There is no entry fee for getting into the show, but in the event of a sale, part of the proceeds will go to the Lobstermen's Alliance and the Cushing Historical Society. 

    The Arts In The Barn program is under the 501c3 statute for the Cushing Historical Society, and its programs benefit the Historical Society's aims. The Historical Society is a community supportive organization that hosts talks and presentations about the history, cultural heritage and persons of interest in the local Midcoast area.
