Heads up: Union St., Rockport, to get repaved; expect delays

ROCKPORT — The Maine Department of Transportation will be paving Union Street in Rockport, beginning Sept. 8. Crews will be starting at the Union and Elm streets intersection in Camden with paving all the way to the Pascal Ave and Route 1 intersection in Rockport.
“This will likely cause some traffic slowdowns and inconvenience as these are very busy roads,” said Town Manager Rick Bates.
Also, Mill Street as back open to through traffic effective, today, Bates said.
“There may be some minor roadblocks, while the final work is being completed, but traffic will be able to pass over the bridge for the first time in over a month.”
