Rockport’s Goose River Bridge closed to traffic this evening, free Bay Chamber Concert at Marine Park
ROCKPORT — Traffic through downtown Rockport will be rerouted this afternoon and evening while the Goose River Bridge that overlooks Rockport Harbor is closed for a community dinner.
Drivers are urged to find alternate routes around Rockport Village.
The Goose River Bridge Dinner is the last event of the Rockport Quasquicentennial (125th) celebration that began in February. The bridge will be set with tables and seats for 275.
Prior to the dinner, at 5 p.m., there will be a free Bay Chamber Concert, Jazz on the Water, at Rockport Marine Park, courtesy of Bay Chamber Concerts and in memory of Irene and Billy Wolf.
Featuring the Creative Ensemble Collective with with saxophonist Donny McCaslin, this free outdoor jazz performance begins at 5 p.m.
Donny McCaslin was a David Bowie collaborator and will perform with an ensemble of artists from around the world brought together by the Creative Ensemble Collective, a nonprofit fostering exceptional and diverse music.
