Rockland City Council, port, harbor school board nomination papers available August 10
Nomination papers for City of Rockland municipal offices to be filled at the November 8 Annual Municipal Election will be available beginning August 10 and may be picked up at the City Clerk’s Office at Rockland City Hall, 270 Pleasant Street, during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Completed nomination papers must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 4:30 p.m., September 26. To qualify to run for a municipal office, a person must be at least 18 years of age and be a registered voter of Rockland. Requirements for nomination papers are as follows:
For City Council and RSU 13 Board of Directors, must have no less than 100 nor more than 150 signatures of registered Rockland voters to qualify for placement on the ballot.
For Port District, Election Warden, and Ward Clerk, no less than 15 nor more than 25 signatures are required.
Offices available for the November 8 Municipal Election are as follows:
City Council: 2 seats (Louise MacLellan-Ruf, Larry Pritchett) 3-year term. Signatures: 100-150
RSU #13 Board of Directors: 2 seats (Roberts, Robishaw) 3-year terms. Signatures: 100-150
Rockland Port District Board: 1 seat (Ed Glaser) 5-year terms. Signatures: 15-25
Election Warden: 1 seat (Avirett) 1-year term. Signatures: 15-25
Ward Clerk: 1 seat (Woodman) 1-year term. Signatures: 15-25
