Get ready to dance!

ROCKPORT — Tickets are on sale now for the July 29 Rockport Firefighters’ Ball, a night to dance and celebrate the community. All are invited to the ball, which will be held at the Samoset Resort, in Rockport. The ball is part of the larger Rockport 125th Summer Celebration, that continues for a week, July 29-Aug. 7.

This will be a dance for the entire community, featuring popular band Creatures of Habit. Tickets are $50 and available onlinebrownpapertickets.com/event/2531469; or can be purchased up at the Rockport Town Office, 236-9648, or at the Rockport Fire Department.

The evening will include wings, sliders and light grub, plenty of good cheer, and much dancing. Get your dancing shoes polished!

The week will include a variety of events, including concerts, a film festival, and harbor festivities. It all culminates Sunday, Aug. 7, with a Goose River Bridge Community Dinner.

The bridge overlooking the harbor will be closed to traffic, and tables will be set up for a catered dinner. Just prior to the dinner, a special free Bay Chamber jazz concert will fill Marine Park with music for all to enjoy. Tickets for the dinner will be soon be available to purchase.
