Waldoboro Police beat: Drug possession, stolen medications, smashed shed windows
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 158 calls for service from May 23-31. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
May 23
Derek Hinkley, 31, of Jefferson, was arrested by Officer John Lash for a probation violation.
May 24
Paul Specyalski, 40, of Boothbay, was arrested by Officer Larry Hesseltine for violation of conditional release and violation of a protective order.
Brian Hendrickson, 30, of Waldoboro, was charged by Lash for operating under the influence.
May 26
Zachariah Hamilton, 34, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Christopher Spear for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen that someone stole $200 worth of medication from his motor vehicle.
May 29
Officer Jeffery Fuller investigated an accident on Dutch Neck Road at 12:30 p.m. Steven Drake, 58, Nobleboro, was driving a 2008 Toyota pickup truck. Drake pulled to the side of Dutch Neck Landing road to avoid a second vehicle. When doing so, Drake went over the side of the pavement and struck several alder trees. No injuries were reported.
Fuller investigated a report from a citizen that someone smashed out the windows in his shed.
Sergeant Jamie Wilson investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 6:30 p.m. George Hendron, 31, of Warren, was driving a 1999 Ford pickup truck. The second vehicle was a parked vehicle belonging to Sharon Pennington, 53, of Nobleboro. Hendron was in Wink’s Auto parking lot. He was backing up and did not see Pennington’s vehicle, which was parked and unattended in the same parking lot. Hendron struck Pennington’s vehicle, causing damage. No injuries were reported.
May 30
Fuller is investigating a complaint from a citizen that unknown subjects broke into his residence, beat him up, and took medication and $160.
Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen that he is receiving harassing text messages.
Officer Thomas Bartunek is investigating a report from a citizen that her residence was broken into and several items were stolen.
May 31
Amanda Emerson, 34, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for theft.
