Waldo County Sheriff’s Office investigates stolen political signs
LINCOLNVILLE — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report that a “large number” of political signs supporting Probate Judge Susan Longley have been recently stolen or damaged.
Longley reported the thefts Oct. 23, stating that signs located in different coastal towns, from Liberty to Lincolnville have been stolen, according to a press release.
A number of supporters have reportedly called Longley directly to report the missing or damaged signs. Longley also told law enforcement that she had noticed a number of missing signs while driving through southern towns.
Longley, a democrat who represented Waldo County in the Maine Senate from 1994 - 2002. She was reelected as a probate judge in both 2008 and 2012.
Investigation into the thefts and vandalism is ongoing.
