KNOX — Maine State Police Thursday morning have identified the woman killed July 6 in the town of Knox. The crash, which occurred on Route 137 near the Hilltop Store, took place about 3:30 p.m.
State Police say the woman who was killed Wednesday afternoon, when her car collided with a pickup truck, is 30-year-old Shannon Kennedy of Unity. The driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Charles Fitzpatrick of Troy, was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Troopers continue to investigate why Kennedy's car crossed the center line on Route 137 and collided head-on with Fitzpatrick's truck.
Troopers said the woman's car crossed the center line on a slight curve and struck the pickup head on. She died at the scene.
