Sen. Beebe-Center welcomes Hope Pastor Jamie Bickel to Senate
AUGUSTA — On Tuesday, May 13, Sen. Pinny Beebe-Center, D-Rockland, welcomed Pastor Jamie Bickel of South Hope Community Church in Hope to the State House to deliver the opening invocation. The invocation is given at the beginning of each session with the intent to ensure senators have the opportunity to hear from a variety of faith leaders around the state.
“It was a pleasure to have Jamie come to the State House and give such a lovely opening invocation,” said Sen. Beebe-Center, in a news release. “I am grateful for Jamie’s presence in the chamber, and he set a great tone for the rest of the day. I hope to invite him back next year.”
Invocations are meant to be nonpartisan in nature to ensure all faiths are represented. If you are interested in giving an invocation, please reach out to Alex Ferguson at the Senate Secretary’s Office at Alex.Ferguson@legislature.maine.gov or call 207-287-1541.
