Rockland traffic stop leads to cocaine, fentanyl charges
ROCKLAND – Rockland Police conducted a traffic stop Aug. 20 in the area of Holmes Street in Rockland and charged three individuals with possessing drugs and drug trafficking.
According to a press release the Rockland Police Department posted on its Facebook page the same day, officers searched the vehicle and found over 60 grams of cocaine and over 28 grams of fentanyl, along with drug paraphernalia, scales, and packaging material.
As a result of the traffic stop, Darrin Upton, 39, of South Thomaston, was charged with aggravated trafficking, trafficking, trafficking in prison contraband, and a probation violation, police said. Davis Crowell, 30, of Waldoboro, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation. Jamie Nickerson, 32, of Rockport, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a probation violation.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency assisted in the stop and is continuing the investigation.
