Midcoast Solid Waste directors to talk about recycling, quarry remediation
HOPE — The Mid-Coast Solid Waste Board of Directors will convene October 26 at the Hope Town Office to consider a variety of pressing issues at the Rockport transfer station that include recycling options and the facility’s financial status.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and the full agenda follows:

4.) Discussion of meeting time
5.) Manager’s update including Jacobs Quarry Gut Remediation project
6.) Presentation of recycling options for the facility:
- Single sort v source separation and any blending of the two
- Impact of recycling choice on any facility design
- Potential vendors for single sort
- Encouraging haulers to recycle and dispelling the perception they don’t
7.) Corporate Goals discussion – with the result providing guidance for the FY 2018 Budget
- Goals of last year plans for this – Strategic Planning Committee
- Discussion of starting point/suggestions/plan outline put forward by Art Durity
