Man found deceased in Norton Pond
LINCOLNVILLE — A man was found dead in Norton Pond, in Lincolnville, in what Waldo County Sheriff's deputies refer to as a tragic accidental drowning.
On Friday, June 28, at 10:45 a.m., a passing motorist contacted the Waldo County Dispatch Center to report a person floating in the water.
Upon arrival, Deputies Kevin Littlefield and Dan Perez, and numerous members of the Lincolnville Fire Department, found Alan Bernardo, 32, of Hope, unresponsive in the Pond.
Rescue personnel were able to remove Bernardo from the water.
According to the Sheriff's Office, initial investigation indicates that Bernardo was fishing from a structure along the roadside when he fell from the elevated area into the water below.
The Maine Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and will make the final determination on the cause of death.

LINCOLNVILLE — Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies, Lincolnville firefighters and an ambulance crew from North East Mobile Health Service are at Norton Pond in Lincolnville on a call involving an unresponsive body floating in the water.
First responders were at the bridge at the head of Norton Pond, on Route 52.
