Man dies from injuries sustained in Waldoboro motorcycle crash
WALDOBORO — A Knox man has died from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Washington Road (Route 220) and Old Augusta Road in Waldoboro around 9:35 a.m. on July 2.
Dean Barlow, 45, died July 7, according to a news release from Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde.
He was initially transported to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta and later transported by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Barlow was operating a 2000 Honda motorcycle when he collided with the front passenger side of a 2003 GMC pick-up truck operated by Chase Macioch, 29, of Warren, said police.
Barlow was traveling south on Washington Road and Macioch was traveling west on Old Augusta Road when the crash occurred.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, said Labombarde.
Waldoboro Police Officer Chris Spear responded to the scene and the department was assisted by the Sagadahoc County Sherriff’s Department to reconstruct the crash.
The crash is currently under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
