UNITY — Hanley Edgar Nickerson, 59, of Unity, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2016. He was born in Hartland on Aug. 20, 1956, the son of the late Oscar Rodney and Doris Glennis (Mailman) Nickerson.

He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1990 after 16 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Nickerson of Unity; his children, AJ Nickerson of Knox and Nicholas Nickerson of Unity; his siblings, Bruce Nickerson of Jackson, Albert Nickerson and his wife, Denise, of Troy, and Sylvia Brown and her husband, George Jr., of Benton; his grandchildren, Zach, Jacie, Ava and Jayden; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held Friday, April 1 at 2 p.m. at Maine Veterans Cemetery.
