Christmas Eve day crashes keep area responders busy
WARREN — Three drivers escaped major injury Tuesday, Dec. 24, after a motor vehicle crash on Route 90, in Warren.
At approximately 3 p.m., Christmas Eve, one vehicle travelling south on Camden Road (Rte 90) was paused in the roadway while waiting to turn into a driveway near 191 Camden Road. According to Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy Juan Alcala, the vehicle travelling behind the first stopped as well. A third vehicle, however, did not stop. That car hit the second car, which continued the chain reaction into the first.
Though all three drivers declined medical attention, some bumps and bruises were noted, including an abrasion to one driver’s forehead.
A small stretch of Route 90 was reduced to one lane for a brief time.
Warren Fire and Warren Ambulance services both responded to the call.
At approximately 4:25 p.m., a motor vehicle accident occurred at the Main Street and Oyster River Road in Thomaston. Northbound traffic was allowed to continue north along the southbound lane while southbound traffic was rerouted west along the Oyster River Road.
One driver was transported for observation by Thomaston Ambulance. Thomaston Fire and Police. Rockland EMS responded to the scene as well.
During the day, Rockland police responded to multiple minor accidents, though Fire and EMS were not called to those incidents.
