Brooks woman injured in Richmond crash on I-295
AUGUSTA — Maine State Police say a woman from Brooks was seriously injured Thursday night, when her car slammed into trees off Interstate 295 in Richmond.
The injured driver was identified as 49-year-old Terri Sebring, who is being treated at Central Maine Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
State Trooper Greg Stevens said Sebring apparently over-corrected after nearly colliding with another car in front of her. Her car then skidded off the road, spun around and ended up in a group of trees in the median.
The roof of the car had to be cut away by firefighters to free her from the vehicle. Her dog escaped injury and was turned over to an animal control officer from Lincoln County.
In a news release, Department of Public Safety spokesman said that Stevens said it is not clear why Sebring lost control of the car.
