Beth Denfeld Wood, obituary
TENANTS HARBOR — Beth Denfeld Wood, 71, of Tenants Harbor, Maine, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, May 12, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late William Bradford “Brad” Bucklin.
Beth was born on July 19, 1953 in Needham, Massachusetts. She graduated from Needham High School in 1971, attended UMass Amherst for a year and then graduated from Boston University School of Nursing. Beth loved life and dedicated her professional career as a labor and delivery nurse to several leading New England hospitals, including Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess in Needham, and most recently to Maine Health Pen Bay Hospital.
After raising two daughters in Saugus, Massachusetts, she and Brad moved to Midcoast Maine in 2019 where they enjoyed exploring the coastal towns, taking in their beautiful ocean view and appreciating the natural beauty of Maine.
She is survived by daughters Adrean Bucklin and Danielle Bucklin; grandchildren, Kolby, Niko, Audreanna, and Leana; brother, Jack Denfeld Wood and his wife Ann Wood of Lausanne, Switzerland; and sister, Susan Denfeld Wood and her husband Tom Murphy of Melbourne, Australia. She is also survived by beloved nieces, Laura McKeever, Sarah Wood Fallon, Petra Wood and nephew, Adam Wood, as well as cousins, work colleagues and caring neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Isabelle D. Wood of Duluth, Minnesota and Needham, Massachusetts (2001) and Jack A. Wood of Needham, Massachusetts (2007).
Beth's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her as a woman with a witty sense of humor, an artistic and creative flair, and the ability to give the most heartfelt and personal gifts.
