Jessica Manbeck and her 15-year-old daughter, Emma Silverton, recently returned from a whirlwind trip to Hollywood, Calif., where they spent a full day March 2 as special guests alongside the Academy Awards and Oscars red carpet. They captured hundreds of photos of celebrities, and have shared the photos with Penobscot Bay Pilot. Their trip was made possible in part through the generosity of readers and friends of the Silvertons, who helped at the last minute to fund their flight to California, an expense not covered by the contest Jessica won that earned them special seats at the event.
