Warren woman charged with engaging in prostitution
WARREN – Knox County Sheriff's Office conducted a search warrant on a residence in Warren relating to an arrest made Sept. 26 at a local motel where Wendy Moody, 37, of Warren, was charged with engaging in prostitution, possession of a useable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, cultivating marijuana, and violation of conditions of release.
Deputy Michael Sprague had received information that Moody was allegedly offering sex for money through the Internet, according to a news release. Deputies from the patrol and criminal investigations divisions set up an operation during which Moody allegedly approached one of the deputies and offered him to have sex in exchange for money, the release said. Moody was arrested and charged. Subsequently, a search warrant was conducted at her residence and evidence, comprising mostly electronic communication devices, was seized to corroborate related activity, said the Sheriff’s Office in the release.
Moody's husband, Curtis Moody, 44, of Warren, was also charged. He was charged with "conspiracy" relating to the charge his wife had as it is “believed that he was aware, cooperated in and supported her activities,” the release said.
The investigation is ongoing and may result in others being charged. The operation is believed to be small, the Sheriff’s Office said.
