Waldoboro Police beat: Drug possession, accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 89 calls for service from Nov. 28-Dec. 5. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    Nov. 28       

    A 15-year-old male, of Warren, was issued a summons by Officer Chris Spear for possession of marijuana.

    Nov. 29       

    Richard Cleaves, 22, of Liberty, was issued a summons by Officer Larry Hesseltine for operating 30 plus miles over the speed limit.

    Dec. 1        

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen of a stolen package from his porch.

    Dec. 2        

    Shannon Cochrane, 41, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Dennis Remillard for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.

    Dec. 3        

    Remillard investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway, at 4:58 p.m. Diane Sullivan, 59, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2005 Toyota sedan. Sullivan was traveling southbound, following the roadway on the Atlantic Highway. A deer ran out in front of Sullivan’s vehicle and she was unable to stop, striking the deer. No injuries were reported.

    Dec. 4 

    Remillard investigated an accident on the Friendship Road at 5:42 p.m. Rebecca Blackmon, 68, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2012 Subaru sedan. Kaitlyn May, 21, of East Poland, was driving a 2014 Mazda sedan. Blackmon and May were both legally parked on Friendship Road. Blackmon started to back up and struck the front of May’s vehicle. No injuries were reported.
