BELFAST — Tony F. Rapoza, 68, of Belfast, passed away unexpectedly Sept. 1, 2014, at Waldo County General Hospital. He was born in Belfast May 14, 1946, the son of Antone and Meda (Phillips) Rapoza.

Tony worked for more than 39 years at Central Maine Power Company as a lineman and meter reader. He loved spending time with his family, most of all his granddaughter, Taylor. He also loved to go to dances, and he loved his companions, his dogs, Britney and Gaddy.

He was predeceased by his father, Antone. Tony leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Sheena (Curtis) Rapoza of Belfast; his two daughters, Nicki Therien and her husband, Tyson, of Greene, and Jodi Rowe and her husband, Tyson, of Swanville; his granddaughter, Taylor Merithew and her partner, John, of Miami, Fla.; his siblings, Michael Rapoza and his wife, Sharon, of Northport, and Annette Howard of Belmont; and many nieces and nephews. Tony also leaves behind his mother in-law, Mary Curtis and special friend, Seas; his sister-in-law, Nyoka Palmer and her husband, Gene; and Paulette Martin. He will also be missed by his close friends, Walter and Joan Ash of Belfast.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to P.A.W.S, P.O. Box 707, Rockport, ME 04856.
