FRIENDSHIP — Timothy Sandblom, 59, died unexpectedly in Fort Pierce, Fla., on June 2, 2017. Tim was born in Damariscotta on April 19, 1958, to William A. Sandblom and E. Hope Sandblom.

Tim grew up in Friendship, attended local schools and graduated from Medomak Valley High School, Class of 1976. Upon graduation, Tim joined the U.S.Navy, serving four years aboard the U.S.S. Edson. He was honorably discharged with the rating of petty officer second class. Tim worked at the Dragon Cement plant for many years, before leaving due to service-related disabilities.

Tim was an ardent Red Sox and Patriots fan, and will be remembered for his sense of humor — he always claimed that his greatest disappointment was "being cut from the Patriots' roster."

Tim was predeceased by his parents; his brother, William A. Sandblom Jr.; and his sister, Lynn Sandblom.

He is survived by his sisters, Pamela (Ken) Lutte of New Harbor, Hope (Mike) Hilton of Nobleboro, and Meredith Anderson of Rockland; and his brothers, Richard (Joy) Sandblom of Friendship, John (Alison) Sandblom of Stow, Mass., and David Sandblom of Friendship; and also many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Harbor Cemetery in Friendship.

The family requests that any donations in Tim's memory be made to the Friendship Ambulance Auxiliary Foundation, P.O. Box 40, Friendship, ME 04547.

Hall's of Waldoboro has care of the arrangements.
