SPRUCE HEAD ISLAND in SOUTH THOMASTON — Terrie McGuire Sasek, 72, entered her eternal rest June 13, 2015, at her beloved home, following a long illness.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y., to Carleton DePew and Grace Kelder, Terrie was adopted by the Rev. Dr. Francis E. and Lillian McGuire of Ellenville, N.Y.

She was a 1960 graduate of Oak Grove School for Girls in Vassalboro. Terrie was pleased to be accepted to Julliard Eastman School of Music, but fate found her graduating from Krissler Business Institute in 1962.

She married James Dean Sasek on Feb. 3, 1979, in Chelmsford, Mass.

She was employed with Hollis Engineering Company as an international secretary, taking dictation from more than 57 Spanish speaking representatives in South America and translating that correspondence to English documents to be sent around the world. As well, she arranged all that company's travel behind the Iron Curtain.

She later took a position as secretary to the vice president of Marketing and Sales of Prince Macaroni Food Company, where she coordinated worldwide flight plans, hotel accommodations and corporate dinners for groups up to 100 people; all in the days before computers. Upon the retirement of that company's president, Terrie was appointed executive administrator of Prince Macaroni. For more than eight years, she also served as organist of the United Methodist Church of Chelmsford, Mass., where she was an active member. Terrie was a past president of the Chelmsford Garden Club.

Always active in her community, for more than 17 years, Terrie served as a library assistant with the South Thomaston Library; as chairman of the 1998 South Thomaston Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee; was an officer of the Spruce Head Community Club; and a member of the Weskeag Historical Society.

For 15 consecutive years, Terrie loved spending three weeks with her husband in Aruba at their Playa Linda time-share. She was an avid New England Patriots fan and followed many college football teams as well.

In addition to her parents, Terrie was predeceased by her son, Geoffrey Weitz. She is survived by her beloved husband, J. Dean Sasek; two daughters, Lynne Walsh and Lori Beauregard; two sons, Jeffrey Sasek and Scott Sasek; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Jack, Christen, Michelle, April, David, Taryn, Lylly, Olivia and Vaughn; as well as six great-grandchildren, Jason, Megan, Christian, Ryen, Cameron and Zoey. In addition, in 1986 Terrie "found" and is survived by her siblings, Bob Murphey, Cris Finnegan, Joann Swade and Mark Van Keuren.

A celebration of Terrie's life will be held Saturday, July 18 at 3 p.m. at Peoples United Methodist Church on Chapel Street in South Thomaston. The Rev. Michelle Wiley will officiate. Burial at sea will be at a later date. A reception will follow the service in the church's parish hall.
