St. George says no to retail marijuana establishments and social clubs

    Voters in St. George said yes to an ordinance prohibiting retail marijuana establishments and social clubs. The town has another ordinance proposal restricting weight on public ways. See the municipal ballot here.

    The local measure that asked voters: “Shall the town of St. George adopt an ordinance prohibiting retail marijuana establishments and retail marijuana social clubs as shown on the attachment to the warrant and reviewed at at public hearing on Oct. 2, 2017” passed with 538 voting in favor and 308 opposed.

    The local roads ordinance passed at 692 to 143.

    On the state ballot, St. George voters also opposed a proposed casino in York County at a vote of 762 to 97.

    They voted to expand Medicaid at 571 to 283.

    They approved a $105 million statewide transportation bond at 678 to 168, and the last measure, to reduce volatility in state pension, at 549 to 259.
