BROOKS — Sherrill M. (Curtis) Littlefield, 55, of Brooks, went home to be with her Lord Aug. 14, 2015, after a long courageous battle. She passed peacefully and with dignity while her husband gazed into her eyes, as he promised her he would do when the time came. She was surrounded by family and loved ones. She was holding a cherished stone heart given to her by her loving brother.

Sherry was born Sept. 29, 1959, in Waterville, to Erving and Ferne (Wingate) Curtis of Thorndike. She was dedicated to the love of her life, her best friend and spouse, Rodger. She loved their babies (their cats) and all of her family. She enjoyed gardening and anything to do with the Royal family, The Wizard of Oz, the Kennedy family and of course, Elvis. Sherry was well known for her quick witted sense of humor and kind heart. She was always quick to lend a hand without expecting anything in return. She was a second mom to many, leaving behind many loving memories for all to cherish. She was also known as the "Candy Fairy" and for coming up with nicknames for all of her nieces and nephews.

Sherry was predeceased by her parents; a special aunt, Kathleen Wingate; her grandmother, Gladys Small; a special cousin, Charlene (Wingate) Higgins; and her sister-in-law, Debbie Littlefield.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Rodger Littlefield Jr of Brooks; her big sister, Sandra Sargent and her husband, Peter, of Troy; her brother, Delton Curtis and his wife, Becky, of Thorndike; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rodger and Sandra Littlefield Sr. of Waldo; her brother-in-law, Michael Littlefield; and sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Bill Whitcomb of Monroe; as well as several nieces; nephews; cousins; aunts and uncles; as well as special longtime friend, Christi (Manning) Burden and her husband, Mike, of Ohio.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Aug. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave. in Belfast. There will be no additional services.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sherry's memory to the Lafayette Family Cancer Center, 33 Whiting Hill Road, Brewer, ME 04412.
