FRANKFORT — Robert Kingsbury, 75, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2016, at his home, with his loving wife, Jean, by his side. Bob was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Frankfort, to Nathaniel Lane Kingsbury and Cora Frances (Cunningham) Kingsbury. He was the 11th of 12 children, the youngest of the five boys.

In addition to being a loving husband and son, Bob was a proud father and grandfather. At the age of 26, Bob donated a kidney to his brother, Lane. He was very proud that he was able to give his brother a long life with a kidney that never failed.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Nat and Cora; his four brothers, Grover, Donald, Lane and Laurence; and three of his sisters, Natalie, Nancy and Judy.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean; two daughters, Karen and her husband, Vance Eldridge, of Orland, and Laurie and her husband, Shannon Gray, of Frankfort; his son, Bobby and his wife, Belinda, of Frankfort; two granddaughters, Olivia (Eldridge) and her husband, Anthony Marson, of Hallowell, and Chanelle (Gray) and her husband, Dennis Pike, of Searsport; two grandsons, Evan Eldridge of Louisiana and Nathaniel Gray of Frankfort; two great-grandsons, Roland and Chance Marson; and a great-granddaughter, Nora Lane Pike; four sisters, Barbara Kingsbury of Bangor, Margaret Knowles and her husband, Frank, of Frankfort, Jessie Ginn of Florida and Frances Hall of Vermont; his mother-in-law, Edith Kingsbury of Orrington; his sisters-in-law, Joane Blanchard of Orrington, and Marylou Hurd and her husband, Allen, of Bucksport; his brothers-in-law, Joel Kingsbury of Belfast, and Mark Kingsbury and his wife, Diane, of Frankfort; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Bob will be missed by his two faithful companions, JRT, Gabby and Gus, who were always at his side.

Special thanks to hospice chaplain, the Rev. Kenneth Dale, and hospice health care registered nurse, David Malay, who helped Bob's family through this difficult time.

A graveside service was performed Nov. 25 at the family cemetery in Frankfort.
