ROCKPORT — Rita Elizabeth Amoruso Masiello, beloved wife of R.J. Masiello of Rockport, passed away March 3, 2013. Rita served as a civilian hematologist technician in the U.S. Signal Corps during World War II at the Signal Corps Depot in Philadelphia, Pa., and later as a hematologist at Bronx Hospital in New York City.

In 1945, she married R.J. Masiello and they resided in New York City, Bethesda, Md., Pittsburgh, Pa., Tulsa, Okla., and Dallas, Texas. She assisted her husband at airline bases at these locations.

Rita lived in Camden and then Rockport since 1985, and was a communicant of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Camden.

Surviving is her husband; her daughter, Janet Moore of Bodega Bay, Calif.; and two sisters, Vivian Conte of Joliet, Ill., and Joan Iserroli of Flohan, N.J. She was predeceased by a son, Richard John Masiello; and a daughter, Robin Anasazi.

Private services were held at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Camden and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
