LINCOLNVILLE - Richard Herbert Rosenberg, 84, of Lincolnville, passed away on Aug. 10, 2016, in his home.

Richard was predeceased in 2006 by his long-time partner, Dawn Bragg.

Richard was raised on Long Island, N.Y., and moved with Dawn from Lighthouse Point, Fla. to the cottages on the shore of Levenseller Pond in Lincolnville in 1980.

Richard had a career of making engraved brass plaques, but he was best known as a colorful character who delighted in thinking outside the box and pushing the envelope. Richard loved to laugh and joke, had a sharp wit and keen imagination, and pursuing his creative endeavors is what motivated him to persevere through many years of difficult trials with his health. So many people pass through our daily lives without us taking much notice of them - that was certainly not the case for people who met Richard.

A memorial service for Richard will be held Thursday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m. at Riposta Funeral Home in Belfast.
