ROCKPORT — Richard Boucher, 68, of Rockport, died March 3, 2014. He was born March 9, 1945, in Belmont, Mass., to the late Albert and Rose Boucher. Richard graduated from Belmont High School in 1963, receiving a fine arts degree from the School of Practical Art in 1966. He married Dawn Grinnell in 1966.

Richard was a very intelligent, down to earth, humorous, artistic and caring man who worked hard his entire life to support his family. He had been an avid lover of Mother Nature and all of its living creatures with a great fondness for birds, leading him to the raising of pigeons. He was one of the proudest Native Americans you could meet, who would always prefer to be outdoors watching, listening and learning about all the species of animals we share our planet with, than being anywhere else. He was always so full of life and everyone around him could see his passion for Mother Nature, so much so that it inspired those around him to understand and care for it themselves. He is a man that will be greatly missed by his friends and family. We love you Richard, may you spread your wings and soar high above us with the great spirits.

Richard is survived by his wife, Dawn; two sons, Eric and Shane; his sister, Juliann Boucher of Rockport and Winter Park, Fla.; and by his mother-in-law, Mary E. Grinnell of Rockport.

Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are with Long Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Camden.
