RDNA Basket Social online auction benefits Midcoast elderly

MIDCOAST MAINE — The 2014 RDNA Basket Social auction is live through October 31 at biddingowl.com/rdna.

This year's array of "baskets" come from Midcoast businesses and craftspeople, in the spirit of neighbor-reaching-neighbor. As in previous years, the variety of auction items ranges from coastal escapes to northern jewels, from special comforts to Midcoast delights, and to the practical for the home and garden.

Each day RDNA is reminded how important RDNA services are to the residents the nurses see. One client recently said: "It's a weight off my mind to know that RDNA is keeping my medications straight and helping me to stay on track. The nurses help me remember."

Today RDNA sees close to 300 predominantly elderly residents either in their homes in Warren, Union, South Thomaston, Owls Head, St. George, Cushing, Thomaston and Rockland, or at monthly blood pressure clinics.

For the past 85 years, RDNA has continuously served as a link in the community safety net, focusing on neighbors in need of care, and sustained through the generosity of this community. The majority of the annual operating costs are covered by gifts and contributions. RDNA is a 501(c)(3) organization.
