Online book discussion begins March 14: Remembering and Reclaiming our Belonging to Creation

Mon, 03/04/2024 - 5:00pm

The First Congregational Church of Camden invites the public to join in an online discussion of the Victoria Loorz book, Church of the Wild: How Nature Invites Us into the Sacred. This program will be led by Rev. Dr. Ute Molitor in a series of five Thursday sessions, March 14, March 21, March 28 (no meditation), April 11, and April 18; each session runs from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., followed by an optional half hour guided meditation.

Do you feel a longing to connect with your own sense of belonging to this wild, precious, and fragile creation? Could it be that our own sense of separation from our belonging to the created world is a central factor in the climate crisis and loss of bio-diversity affecting our planet?

“If these questions speak to you, consider joining this online book discussion and optional half hour guided meditation,” said the Church, in a news release.

The meditation will draw from mindfulness practices and the Christian Heart Prayer.

Rev. Dr. Ute Molitor is Senior Minister of First Congregational UCC in Camden. She is a participant in an eco-spiritual direction program through the “Center for Wild Spirituality” and a certified Mindfulness Meditation teacher.

Those who wish to participate should contact Molitor directly via email at ute@camdenucc.org or by calling the church at 207-236-4821.
