Rockland — The Oceanside Boosters will hold the annual Mariner Mother’s Day 5K Road Race Sunday, May 11, at Oceanside East High School on Broadway - rain or shine.

There will be a free Kids Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. for youths up to age 10. Walkers will start the course at 9 a.m. and runners will begin at 9:15 a.m.

This is the second year that Oceanside Boosters has hosted the Mother's Day Race. The Mariner Mother's Day 5k will benefit all sports and extra curricular programs for Oceanside High School students in ninth- through 12th-grades.

Since this is a family event happening on Mother's Day, families are invited to join together and run or walk the route to celebrate. Friendly, well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

Participants are encouraged to preregister, at a discount. The first 50 registrants receive a free T-shirt.

The cost is $20 for adults and youth ages 11 and up, $15 per person for two or more registering. On race day, the costs will be $25 per person. No entry fee for kids up to age 10.

Registration can be done online on active.com or download and mail the registration form from oceansideboosters.com.

Awards will be given for all participants in the Kids Fun Run. Overall male and female finishers and top finishers in each decade category will receive medals.

Volunteers on race day are welcome and sponsorships are available.
