SWANVILLE — Norman W. Grant, 81, of Swanville, passed away on Feb. 27, 2017. He was born in Passadumkeag on Aug. 29, 1935, to Gladys Sibley and George Breyer Grant.

Norman was in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. He was a woodcutter for most of his career. He was considered unique to those who knew him and he had friends from all walks of life.

He was married to Beatrice Lenfest Maxwell for 33 years.

Norman was predeceased by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Russell Lanphere. Norman leaves behind his sister, Janice Lanphere; his daughters, Bonnie Grant, Tammy Cook, and Trudy Norman and her spouse, Boyd Norman Sr.; a special niece, Debra Freeman; a special nephew, Michael Larrabee; and special friend, Marie Bragdon and son, Toran. He will be missed by all, including his four grandchildren; Laurie, Angela, Jessica and Desiray; and nine great-grandchildren.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
